The first ministerial meeting since Operation Sindoor was held under PM Modi’s leadership.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to chair a significant meeting of the Union Council of Ministers today, June 4, 2025, in New Delhi. This marks the first such gathering following India's military operation, 'Operation Sindoor', conducted in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which resulted in the loss of 26 civilian lives.

The meeting is scheduled to commence at 5 PM at the Sushma Swaraj Bhawan. It is expected to include a comprehensive briefing on the planning and outcomes of Operation Sindoor, which involved precision strikes on nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. These operations also targeted Pakistani military installations, notably air bases, underscoring India's firm stance on national security.

In addition to discussing the military operation, the Prime Minister is likely to outline the government's agenda for the remainder of its term, focusing on sectors that will receive renewed emphasis. This meeting comes just days ahead of the first anniversary of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government's third term in office, which began on June 9, 2024.

The Council of Ministers, comprising leaders from the BJP and its alliance partners, convenes periodically to deliberate on pressing national issues. Today's session is particularly significant given the recent geopolitical developments and the government's ongoing initiatives to strengthen national security and governance.
