Bikaner, Rajasthan – In a fiery address laced with symbolism and strategic assertion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday delivered a bold message to Pakistan from Bikaner, a border district that recently witnessed hostile action. The PM declared that India’s recent military operation, codenamed **Operation Sindoor**, has sent a strong message to Pakistan and the world that India will no longer tolerate terror attacks or empty threats.
Drawing on nationalistic imagery and invoking the trauma of a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, Modi said that the country's armed forces have avenged the lives lost. “Those bullets were fired in Pahalgam, but they pierced the hearts of 140 crore Indians,” he said, referring to the killings where victims were reportedly identified and targeted based on religion.
“In response, our three armed forces destroyed nine major terrorist hideouts in 22 minutes. The world has now seen what happens when sindoor turns into gunpowder,” he said, alluding to the transformation of peace into power. Modi added, “My mind remains cool, but my blood runs hot. Now it’s not blood – garam sindoor (hot vermilion) flows through my veins.”
The PM firmly declared that India will no longer make a distinction between Pakistan’s state and non-state actors. “Those who patronize terror and those who execute it are one and the same,” he said, warning that Pakistan’s long-used tactic of operating through proxies would no longer shield it from consequences.
He outlined three cardinal principles that will guide India’s response to terrorism going forward:
1. Every attack will be met with a befitting reply.
2. India will not be intimidated by nuclear threats.
3. All perpetrators of terror, whether in uniform or not, will be treated as one.
In a significant policy statement, Modi ruled out dialogue or trade with Pakistan, reiterating that the only issue India would discuss is the status of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). “If Pakistan keeps exporting terror, it will be deprived of every drop of water that rightfully belongs to India,” he warned.
He added that seven all-party parliamentary delegations have been dispatched globally to expose “Pakistan’s true face” on the international stage.
PM Modi also claimed that the Pakistani airbase at **Rahim Yar Khan**, used in the recent escalation, had been destroyed in Indian retaliatory strikes. “It is now in the ICU. We don’t know when it will reopen,” he remarked, drawing a direct contrast with India’s Nal airbase in Bikaner, which reportedly suffered no damage.
The Prime Minister drew a parallel to the 2019 Balakot strikes, stating that just like then, Rajasthan was again the venue of his first rally after a retaliatory strike. Recalling his words from that time, he said, “Saugandh mujhe is mitti ki, main desh nahi mitne dunga** (I swear on this soil, I will not let the nation fall or bow down).
He emphasized that a developed India, or viksit Bharat, is only possible when every corner of the nation – including border states like Rajasthan and the Northeast – is secure, strong, and resilient.
This is not revenge; this is justice. This is the fierce new face of India,” Modi concluded, as chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” echoed through the crowd.
